UMBRELLA is a blend of standardised extracts, one capsule containing:

Echinacea Purpurea powder – 120 mg
Beta 1.3/1.6 D Glucan – 100 mg
Sambuci flos (elderflower) – 100 mg
Vitamin C – 80 mg
Allium sativum (deodorised garlic extract) – 50 mg
Zingiber officinale (ginger) – 20 mg

If you are taking antiarrhythmic or antifungal medicines, please consult your doctor or pharmacist. Echinacea Purpurea – A stimulant of the immune system; its effect is based on stimulating phagocytosis (the engulfing of bacteria by white blood cells) and the formation of T-cells (antibodies that fight viruses and bacteria). It has an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect on tissues by suppressing the action of the enzyme hyaluronidase, which bacteria use to penetrate tissues. The antibiotic effect of the plant is due to the active substance echinacoside, whose potency is compared with that of penicillin.

Beta 1.3/1.6 D Glucan – Beta glucans are exceptionally effective immunostimulants of natural origin. They support both innate and acquired immunity. They increase the resistance of the body to pathogenic and opportunistic bacteria and to a large number of viruses. The most potent beta glucans are the long-chain 1,3/1,6 beta glucans extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. Beta glucans improve the work of the immune system by activating cells called macrophages. Their role is to capture and “eat” bacteria, viruses and parasites that are dangerous to humans. Macrophages are cells of the immune system, and when their number is insufficient in risk areas such as the nasopharynx, the excretory system or the lungs, the risk of developing infections is very high.

Sambuci flos – has an immunostimulating, antiviral and antibacterial effect. The polyphenols in the extract improve the immune response by increasing the number of leukocytes. The antiviral action of elderberry has been demonstrated experimentally, as it successfully inhibits the spread of H1N1 viral particles in the human body. In addition, the extract is effective in chronic sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infections.

Allium sativum – Strengthens immunity and increases resistance to infections. Has a beneficial effect on maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol.

Zingiber officinale – Ginger extract has been used for centuries as a means of fighting viruses and bacteria. It has an immunostimulating and general strengthening action.
