Immune system – Vitamin D plays an essential role in the fight against bacterial and viral infections by stimulating the action of the immune system. Clinical studies show significantly lower morbidity and absence from work or school among people with high levels of vitamin D compared with people with lower levels of the vitamin.1
Musculoskeletal system – Vitamin D is known for its positive action on the musculoskeletal system. The vitamin increases the absorption of calcium in the digestive system and subsequently maintains the necessary serum level of calcium and phosphorus. This ensures sufficient mineralisation of the bones and accordingly maintains their strength.
Vitamin D in children – the intake of sufficient quantities of vitamin D by children is of essential importance for their correct growth and development. Vitamin D is extremely important for the correct growth of the bones and the teeth.
