Description
Bioton B Syrup is a mixture of standardized extracts with a content of in the recommended daily dose of 5 ml, as follows:
- Lactobacillus acidophilus – 90 mg (≥ 13 billion CFU)
- Bifidobacterium longum – 50 mg (≥ 5 billion CFU)
- Inulin – 44 mg
- Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine hydrochloride) – 0.5 mg

Upon contact with the gastrointestinal environment, the gastro-resistant matrix of sodium alginate and calcium lactate protects the probiotic bacteria in the microcapsule from degradation in the gastric acid environment. At pH > 3.5, sodium alginate forms a gel-like matrix that is resistant to gastric acids. Calcium lactate stabilizes the matrix structure. In this way, the bacteria that incorporate into the matrix are protected from the low pH.
Upon passage into the duodenum (pH around 7.5), the gastro-resistant matrix breaks down and liquefies, resulting in the release of the active ingredients into the small intestine.
The balance of the intestinal microflora can be disturbed by a number of factors such as viral and bacterial intestinal infections, antibiotic treatment, travel abroad or alcohol consumption. Probiotics contain beneficial bacteria that settle in the gastrointestinal tract and support the efficient functioning of the digestive system.
